Spring Flings: How To Fall In Love With Your Fitness Routine
Let’s face it: after a long winter of doing the same exercises your
workout routine might seem staler than a slice of day-old bread. But with
beautiful spring weather here, it’s easy to reinvigorate your fitness
regimen and make it more fun. Here are some ideas:
Get off the treadmill and go out on the trails.
A change of atmosphere is often all you need to jumpstart your routine. And the
natural inclines and declines of the great outdoors make walking, running or
bike riding more challenging. When you're through, stop for a minute to breathe
in the fresh air and make that mind-body-nature connection.
Substitute family activities for solo routines.
It’s always more fun when other people share activities with you. Bike
riding, volleyball, or even kicking the soccer ball around the yard are all
great ways to get the whole family in motion.
Make exercise an adventure.
Mix things up with a new activity like kayaking or horseback riding. You'll
work muscles you probably aren't used to working and broaden your horizons...
(Not bad for one afternoon.)
